π¬ New atlas reveals hypertension's cellular secrets
Researchers developed a cross-organ, multi-model single-cell atlas to study hypertension's cellular responses. The study involved three animal models and six organs, including the kidney. Specific transcriptional programs were found in the kidney tubule segments, linked to kidney fibrosis and blood pressure. This work aims to understand the molecular systems behind human biology and disease. The findings illuminate consistent and tissue-specific genetic changes related to high blood pressure.
