🔬 New aluminum powder for foamable WAAM wire

Researchers at Leibniz University Hannover in Germany created a custom AlMg2Si1.2 aluminum alloy powder for metallic foams. The study focused on making an alloy with a suitable melting range for foam production and wire workability. They successfully produced spherical powder particles, with the 63–90 µm fraction showing the best flow properties. Testing showed the powder created foams with porosities between 64.1 per cent and 67.7 per cent. The next goal is extruding this powder into foamable wire for the Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) process.

🌧️ El Nino threatens driest monsoon in 17 years

India is facing the prospect of its driest monsoon in 17 years due to strengthening El Nino conditions. This is happening in India, where cumulative rainfall for the June-September season is 15% below the long-term average. The IMD predicted a 10% shortfall, and the deficit is expected to stay between 13% and 16%. This prolonged deficit threatens crop yields and food inflation, which was 5.95% in August. The government is stepping in by allowing duty-free sugar imports to manage rising food costs. 😟

He spent over four hours individually questioning them about their past organizational contributions. This focus on service highlights the BJP's attempt to reset amid political anxieties for the 2029 polls.
