π Nepal floods: Bank vaults with cash washed away
Flash floods in Nepal have led to the washing away and burial of at least 20 bank vaults across several districts. Police are now struggling to trace and secure these missing vaults, as some hold significant amounts of cash and valuables. Incidents have already occurred where people broke into washed-away vaults and stole cash. Officials confirmed that 29 people were arrested in Dhading for stealing NPR 92 lakh from one such vault. Authorities have deployed 7,894 personnel to manage the ongoing rescue and security operations.
