π NASA's $4B Roman Telescope to Map 2 Billion Galaxies
NASA is launching the $4 billion Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope to investigate dark energy and dark matter. This flagship observatory will launch on Sunday from Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy. Its main survey is set to cover over two billion galaxies, taking more than a year to complete. This wide-field survey will help track the universe's expansion and galaxy formation over time. The telescope will also search for planets outside our solar system, complementing Hubble and Webb. π
