NASA's Deep Space Network has activated the new 34-meter multifrequency beam-waveguide antenna, DSS-23. This facility is located at the Goldstone complex near Barstow, California. The antenna officially went online following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 25, 2026. It is part of the Aperture Enhancement Project that started in 2009 to upgrade the network. This upgrade will significantly boost NASA's deep space communication capabilities for decades. π°οΈ
