π» Napa ranch shifts from vines to wild preserve
A 2,300-acre Napa ranch is transforming into a public nature preserve after a long legal battle. The Land Trust of Napa County bought the property in 2023 for $24 million, up from its 2005 purchase price of $8 million. This land, known as Osos Ridge Preserve, will safeguard wildlife corridors for animals like black bears and mountain lions. The decision protects diverse habitats, including oak woodlands and sensitive vernal pools. The preserve is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2027. π»
