health π€ Monsoon fever risk surges, typhoid spotted in many cities
A new study indicates that the risk of monsoon fever is currently at historically high levels. This situation is particularly concerning as typhoid is driving the 'High' risk status in seven out of the ten cities currently flagged. The national risk score rose significantly from 47 in week one to 61 as of August 12. Overall, the risk is now higher than at the start of the season in 186 out of the 209 cities tracked. Health authorities are monitoring the trend as the monsoon season progresses through August 2026.
