π§οΈ Monsoon deficit persists despite recent rains
Recent good rains in Delhi, Haryana, and east Rajasthan slightly mitigated the overall national monsoon deficit. The cumulative rainfall deficit in India dropped minimally from 12% on August 2 to 11% on August 9. Many agrarian states, including Bihar and Jharkhand, continue to face deficient rainfall despite the recent showers. IMD predicts increased rainfall activity over Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar starting August 13. This forecast might help revive paddy and maize sowing in Bihar and Jharkhand. π§οΈ
