Scientists have identified a specific molecule, miR-342, that drives the spread of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). This research was conducted by Adelaide University and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute. The study noted that low miR-342 levels and high E2F activity increase the risk of metastatic disease. Researchers showed that restoring miR-342 reduced cancer spread in pre-clinical models.
