health π Moderna starts Ebola vaccine human trials in Canada
Moderna has begun its first human trial for the experimental mRNA vaccine candidate, mRNA-1469. This trial is taking place in Canada and is targeting Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BDBV) disease. The Phase 1 study, registered under NCT07737717, is expected to enroll about 80 participants across three Canadian sites. This effort is backed by a US $50 million commitment from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). The goal is to assess the vaccine's safety and immune response to fight the rapidly growing Ebola outbreak. π
