health π¬ Moderna gets FDA nod for first mRNA flu shot
Moderna has secured US approval for mFLUSIVA, marking the first mRNA-based flu vaccine in the United States. This vaccine is now available for all adults aged 50 and older. The approval for ages 50 to 64 was based on a Phase 3 trial involving 40,805 adults across 11 countries. For those 65 and older, accelerated approval stemmed from a separate trial with 2,992 US participants. Moderna plans a postmarketing clinical trial to confirm the clinical benefit in the senior population. π¬
