science 🔬 Microrobots gobble up microplastics in lab tests
Magnetic MXene microrobots successfully captured up to 94% of plastic particles in controlled lab environments. This tech was developed by researchers for cleaning soil and water samples using Ti3C2Tx@Ni hybrids. The performance was validated using 1 µm polystyrene and 1-150 µm PET microfragments. This method offers a promising alternative to current, costly microplastic removal techniques. Future focus will involve testing this system in real-world, challenging subsurface environments. 🔬
