tech π Memory Shortage Forecasted Until 2030
SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung stated that the ongoing memory shortage is set to continue until the end of 2030. This statement was made after the company's groundbreaking ceremony for its new Indiana packaging facility. Previously, SK hynix predicted tight supply until 2028 for commodity DRAM. The demand shift towards AI-driven customized DRAM and HBM configurations is the main reason for this projection. Consequently, DRAM and NAND prices are expected to remain high for consumers well into the next decade.
