health ⚕️ Medical device rules get easier, EU added to list
The Union Health Ministry has proposed amendments to the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, to boost ease of doing business. This change removes the need for a separate loan licence for outsourced medical device sterilisation facilities. Specifically, Rule 44 is amended, and the EU is added to stringent regulatory jurisdictions on Monday, August 24, 2026. This simplifies paperwork and speeds up market access for eligible medical devices in India. The changes aim to balance oversight with streamlining the regulatory framework. ⚕️
