business β‘ Maruti eyeing sub-10 lakh electric car for mass market
Maruti Suzuki is developing an affordable Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) expected to cost under βΉ10 lakh ex-showroom. This new model will be introduced over the next two years, positioned below the e Vitara and built on a new platform in India. The pricing strategy aims to compete with the Tata Tiago EV and Hyundai's future offering. This entry-level EV will prioritize low running costs for urban use, unlike premium SUVs. It supports Maruti's goal to introduce six EVs in India by FY31. π
