๐ Manuscript digitization lagging under Gyan Bharatam Mission ๐
A parliamentary panel highlighted the slow pace of manuscript digitization under the Gyan Bharatam Mission. The committee reviewed the mission's progress in the Rajya Sabha this week, which is aimed at preserving India's manuscript heritage. Currently, only 7.5 lakh texts have been digitized against the 2030 target of one crore manuscripts. The report noted the current rate of 33,000 manuscripts monthly is far below the required one and a half lakh. The panel suggested utilizing citizen participation and machine assistance to meet the set goals.
