science 🧠 Learning languages keeps your brain younger, study finds 🧠
New research suggests that speaking multiple languages can actually slow down brain aging processes. Lucia Amoruso presented these findings at the FENS Forum 2026, involving collaborators from Chile, Argentina, and Ireland. The study showed that those speaking two languages appeared six years younger than monolinguals, rising to 13 years for four-language speakers. Higher language proficiency and earlier acquisition were also linked to delayed aging, according to the researchers. The team plans to investigate these patterns in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease next. 🧐
