✊ Ladakh body demands case withdrawal, victim compensation
Leh Apex Body (LAB) demanded the withdrawal of cases against youths and compensation for victims of the September 24 violence in Leh, Ladakh. This demand was made by LAB president Chering Dorjay Lakrook on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Leh. Around 70 to 80 youths faced cases after the September 2025 incident, which resulted in four local deaths. LAB compared the police action to the Jantar Mantar protest, citing disproportionate force used against unarmed individuals. Activist Sonam Wangchuk further insisted that case withdrawal must happen within one month to avoid renewed agitation. ✊
