π§ KPMG audit reveals OP Bhatt hid board evaluation info
OP Bhatt resigned as Coforge's non-executive chairman following an internal controversy. This issue involved the suppression of key findings from an April board evaluation report, which was not shared with all directors at Coforge in Bengaluru. The KPMG audit, which started in early August, found inconsistencies between two separate evaluation reports, BMER and BER. Regulations require the entire board to vet an independent director's performance, a rule Bhatt allegedly breached. Consequently, Bhatt resigned on September 8th after facing investor scrutiny and the special resolution for his reappointment failed. π
