π§βπΎ Kerala to bring farming clubs to 500 schools
The Kerala state government is launching the 'Kathir' agriculture club project to boost interest in farming among students. This initiative will kick off in 500 schools initially, with the goal of expanding to all schools across the state. The project will provide nodal teachers, a backup team, and βΉ10,000 as seeding money for each participating school. This comes as the state also introduced 'Vanitha Sakhi' for women farmers ahead of the 2026 International Year of the Woman Farmer. The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which has allocated βΉ2,520 crore to Kerala since 2020, is being utilized to support the sector's growth. π§βπΎ
