india ๐ Kerala commuters demand more train coaches now
Passenger groups in Kerala are urgently asking for more coaches on MEMU and other trains due to severe overcrowding. This demand comes from commuters shifting from buses to trains because of traffic jams from NH-66 widening works. Official estimates suggest the 640-km Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod stretch work will finish by 2028. Passengers suggest introducing extra MEMU trains during existing time gaps for better service. Railway sources confirm this demand is being pursued, noting current trains have 12 or 16 coaches. ๐
