The Karnataka Food Agency plans to issue an advisory requiring caterers to display calorie counts for food items. This rule targets caterers serving social gatherings and weddings with more than 50 attendees. The proposal is set to be rolled out starting from August 12, 2026, to promote better eating habits. The FDA Commissioner noted that guests can consume up to 5,000 calories in one event meal. This aims to help people make more informed choices about their food intake.
