The Karnataka state government officially withdrew the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2018, from the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil confirmed the withdrawal as the government is now developing a new, comprehensive Bill for RGUHS. The original 2018 Bill aimed to change the appointment criteria for university Registrars. Specifically, it proposed doctors instead of IAS and super-time-scale KAS officers. The Governor had previously sent the bill back to the government seeking more details. ๐ฉบ
