π‘οΈ Japan builds new warship with 360-degree radar
Japan is building a new generation of missile-defence warships to counter rising threats from North Korea and the region. These two Aegis System Equipped Vessels (ASEVs) will feature the AN/SPY-7 radar as their main sensor system. The first ship is taking shape in Nagasaki, with the first expected to enter service in fiscal 2027. This development comes as Tokyo faces challenges from Pyongyang's missile tests and China's military growth. The ships will use SPY-7 radar and Aegis systems to track and engage multiple threats. π‘οΈ
