india ๐๏ธ J&K amends pension rules for ex-legislators
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has amended the State Legislature Members' Pension Rules, 1985. This change authorizes the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly to approve pensions for sitting and former Members of the Legislative Assembly and the erstwhile Legislative Council. The notification was issued by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs under the Pension Act, 1984. The amendment specifically substitutes the definition of 'Presiding Officer' within the existing rules. This move adjusts the pension scheme for past and present lawmakers in J&K.
