world 💣 IRGC shoots down US MQ-9 drone in Strait of Hormuz
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that its air defense forces successfully shot down a US MQ-9 long-range drone. This incident occurred over the Strait of Hormuz, with the drone crashing into the waters of the Persian Gulf. Since late February, Iran has reportedly destroyed over two dozen MQ-9s, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the Pentagon’s initial inventory. The value of this attrition is estimated to be around $1 billion, given each airframe costs $30 million. The US Air Force's operational Reaper fleet is now significantly lower than its required minimum floor. 💥
