business π€ India ready for BIT talks with Canada π¨π¦
India has signaled its readiness to start negotiations for a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) with Canada soon. This was confirmed after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Francois-Philippe Champagne met in Toronto. Both nations aim to boost bilateral trade to CAD 70 billion, or Rs 4.65 lakh crore, by the year 2030. The discussions also covered a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) set for conclusion by the end of 2026. The next joint economic dialogue between the two countries is scheduled to take place in 2027.
