health ๐ฆ India pushes for malaria elimination by 2030
The Union Health Ministry reviewed progress on India's 2030 malaria elimination goal on Friday. Additional Secretary Aradhana Patnaik chaired the meeting, focusing on 33 high-burden districts across nine States and Union Territories. Between 2015 and 2025, malaria cases and deaths saw a drop of nearly 80 percent nationally. The focus now requires area-specific strategies and stronger surveillance to tackle the remaining cases. States were advised to improve data quality and strengthen intersectoral coordination for success.
