π‘οΈ India gets 60 US Javelins for anti-tank power
India has signed a Rs 292-crore deal with the United States for approximately 60 Javelin anti-tank guided missiles. This procurement is for the Indian Army to enhance its anti-armour capabilities following Operation Sindoor. The deal is part of the sixth emergency procurement window, with deliveries expected to start by the end of 2026-27. This acquisition deepens the US-India defence relationship and may lead to co-production opportunities. The Javelin system is a man-portable missile capable of engaging targets up to 4 km away.
