๐ฉบ HPV infection linked to higher CVD risk in women
A study found that HPV infection is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and related death. This research involved 497,445 women with incident HPV infection and their matched counterparts in Sweden. Data from 2006 and 2024 showed increased risks, especially during the first follow-up year. Women with HPV infection had a 7% higher risk of incident CVD and a 25% higher risk of CVD-related mortality. Clinicians should be aware of this short-term risk, though the absolute increase is small. ๐ฉบ
