π§ Hidden ice stash found under Utah rocks
Scientists uncovered a massive ice reservoir beneath rocks on Mount Timpanogos in Utah. Researchers used 232 gravity readings across the site to map the hidden ice volume. This discovery reveals 1.55 million cubic metres of ice, enough for about 600 Olympic swimming pools. The ice is buried roughly 150 feet down and is thought to be accumulating due to snow and rockfall. This finding is important for understanding water reserves in a warming climate. π§
