🥵 Heatwave hits Kolkata, causing health issues
A late monsoon warm spell has triggered a rise in heat-related illnesses across Kolkata. Doctors and hospitals reported patients suffering from heat exhaustion, dizziness, nausea, and blackouts over the last four to five days. Maximum temperatures have been hovering around 34°C, causing temperature fluctuations to aggravate viral infections. Fatigue and dehydration are common symptoms as the body struggles to adjust to the sudden warmth. Physicians warn that dehydration-induced drowsiness can escalate into heat exhaustion or even heatstroke.
