business ๐ HC slaps FDA with โน5 lakh fine for license delay
The Bombay High Court ordered the Maharashtra FDA to pay โน5 lakh compensation to a Pune sweets shop. This decision was made by a Bench of Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ankhad on Monday, August 17, 2026. The compensation is for losses incurred by Gurunanak Dairy and Sweets since its license suspension in June. The court felt the FDA was going overboard despite their laudable intent to enforce food safety. The shop has now been permitted to reopen its business. ๐
