health ๐ค H1N1 rise in Karnataka is seasonal surge
The Karnataka state health department confirmed that the recent increase in H1N1 influenza cases is a typical seasonal pattern during the monsoon season. This situation was noted by officials in Bengaluru, where the state has recorded 4,212 laboratory-confirmed influenza-positive cases across 32 districts as of August 22, 2026. Comparing this to previous years, 4,583 cases were seen in 2025 and 3,903 in 2024. The government is prepared, ensuring medical infrastructure and essential medicine stocks are adequate for any rise. Furthermore, surveillance for ILI and SARI has been strengthened following WHO and Union health ministry guidelines.
