🩺 Grip strength to measure your real lifespan
Dr. Prateek Sharma stated that biological age will soon be tracked using metrics like grip strength and gait, instead of just chronological age. He shared this during a session on "Longevity in the Indian Context: Diet, Supplements and Myths" at the University of Kansas. Genetics only influence about 50% of lifespan, with the other half depending on lifestyle, environment, diet, and sleep. Sharma noted that adding one year of healthy life expectancy could boost India's economy by around $200 billion annually. The focus is now shifting towards 'healthspan'—living with more energy and less disease. 🩺
