⛽ Govt sets LPG targets to boost domestic supply
The government has officially set maximum cooking gas LPG production targets for various refineries to build a domestic supply buffer. This order, issued by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry on August 13, covers 21 refineries and upstream companies across India. The combined potential is set at 63,810 tonnes a day, aiming to exceed the March 31, 2026 output. This move addresses the vulnerability exposed by the West Asia conflict and high import dependence. The production schedule will be reviewed every six months to accommodate new capacity.
