The government reported that over 17 crore new jobs were created in India between 2014 and 2024. Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared these figures with NDA MPs on Tuesday. This represents an average of 1.7 crore jobs annually, significantly higher than the previous UPA period. The unemployment rate also dropped to 3.1% in 2025, according to World Bank and PLFS data. A new package worth Rs 2 lakh crore targets creating over 3.5 crore jobs for youth.
