tech π‘οΈ Google tightens lock screen settings control
Google is rethinking Quick Settings tile behavior on locked phones to boost security. This change targets Android devices across different builds, specifically Android 17 QPR 1 Beta 5 and Android Canary 2608. Initially, all tiles except Flashlight needed an unlock, but the latest code suggests a middle ground. This new restriction will require unlocking for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, and Airplane Mode toggles. Lower-risk functions like flashlight and auto-rotate are expected to remain accessible while the feature is still in testing. π
