Godrej Consumer Products shares tanked by 10% on Wednesday after MD & CEO Sudhir Sitapati resigned immediately. This major FMCG company was based in India, and the stock hit an intra-day low of Rs 916 on the BSE. Sitapati noted that GCPL achieved 19% revenue growth in Q1 FY27, a multi-quarter high. HSBC downgraded the stock to Hold due to the sudden departure despite his term extending until 2031. Aasif Malbari, the current Group CFO, is stepping in as the new CEO.
