π©Ί GLP-1s might help dialysis patients with inflammation
A real-world study found that GLP-1 receptor agonist users had better markers in kidney failure patients. This involved 2468 patients who received or did not receive GLP-1 RAs over 12 months. Users showed lower NLR and WBC counts, plus needed less ESA treatment compared to nonusers. Furthermore, GLP-1 RA users had higher ferritin and serum albumin levels at the 12-month mark. These results suggest GLP-1 RAs could benefit inflammation and anemia management in kidney failure. π©Ί
