𦴠GLP-1 meds might lower fracture risk in diabetics
New research indicates that GLP-1 medications could help lower the risk of serious fractures among adults with type 2 diabetes. The UCLA Health study tracked nearly 134,000 U.S. adults aged 50-90 with this condition. Over three years, GLP-1 users showed a 21% lower risk of fragility fracture versus DPP-4 users. This benefit was specifically seen in hip, femur, and spine fractures among diabetic participants. Further prospective studies are required to confirm these findings on bone health.
