Research predicts a 29% jump in worldwide Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) cases, growing from 9.4 million in 2025 to 12.1 million by 2049. This projection, developed by Professor Anders Green, is being presented at the EASD Annual Meeting in Milan, Italy. Globally, new yearly cases are estimated to increase by 14% over this period, reaching 605,058 in 2049. High-income countries like the USA and UK will see large increases in prevalence due to better healthcare detection. The findings emphasize the crucial need to improve insulin access and care worldwide. π
