The Ganga river water level is rapidly rising in Varanasi due to heavy rainfall, causing all 84 ghats to be submerged. The river is currently at 69.40 metres, with the danger mark set at 71.26 metres. Authorities have suspended boat operations as a precaution against the increasing water. Sixty-one flood relief camps and 21 flood posts are now operational for residents. NDRF and Water Police teams are on high alert for potential emergency rescues.
