π Foreign buying in Indian stocks hits 23-month high
Foreign portfolio investors poured $3.1 billion into Indian equities in August, marking the highest monthly inflow in nearly two years. This happened with FPIs being net buyers for the second consecutive month, according to National Securities Depository data. So far this year, they remain on track for the highest annual outflows, totaling $24.6 billion. Strong domestic earnings outlook and RBI's rupee stabilization measures have boosted sentiment. This signals healthy demand, even as heavyweights dragged the Nifty and Sensex down slightly. π
