The 5x800 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Station is proving a huge burden on the state even before finishing. The BRS government signed a coal supply agreement with Singareni in 2022, but they cannot meet the demand. The plant is 270 km from the mines, adding an estimated ₹40,000 crore to generation costs over 40 years. Now, the government plans to get the required coal from Mahanadi Coalfields or Coal India. ⛽
