π¨ Fiji sees record high HIV cases in 2025
Fiji reported its highest annual number of newly diagnosed HIV cases in 2025, reaching 2,016. This figure, announced in Nadi, is attributed to Fiji President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu. The 2025 count is 27 percent higher than the 1,583 cases recorded in 2024. The president stressed that this increase is a serious public health concern needing urgent action. Therefore, there are renewed calls to boost prevention, testing, and early treatment efforts across the nation.
