π’ FDA says celebs are responsible for misleading ads
Tukaram Mundhe clarified that the FDA notices issued to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff are not targeting them individually. The action stems from the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018, which assigns equal responsibility to advertisers and promoters. These notices were served after the FDA identified the advertisement as surrogate promotion of a prohibited pan masala product. Mundhe stressed that endorsers must ensure compliance with FSSAI norms, with potential fines up to Rs 10 lakh. The actors have been directed to stop the campaign and submit endorsement agreement details. π§
