science 🪐 Fastest jet stream spotted on exoplanet WASP-127b
Astronomers detected an incredibly fast jet stream circling the equator of the exoplanet WASP-127b. This giant world is located about 520 light-years away from Earth in the cosmos. The measurements, taken with the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope, showed atmospheric motion near 9 kilometers per second. This speed is over 18 times faster than Neptune’s wind record, indicating extreme atmospheric dynamics. Researchers will continue to study these spectral signatures to better understand the planet's unique weather patterns. 💨
