health π¬ Farm Bacteria Boost Immunity, Fight Allergies
Scientists identified nine specific bacteria linked to the 'farm effect,' suggesting early microbial exposure strengthens immunity. Researchers found these bacteria, including Romboutsia timonensis, in cow sheds in southern Germany. The study, published in NEJM, involved 1,018 rural school children and 47 farms. These cow-derived bacteria release metabolites that activate the AhR, reducing asthma and eczema risks. Future research aims to use these findings for new allergy prevention methods. π¬
