Hackers are using fake Claude installation guides to launch a serious malware campaign targeting Mac users. This operation is exploiting paid Google search results to trick victims into running commands in their Terminal. Huntress analysts identified this after an incident in July, revealing a multi-stage attack chain. The malware, MacSync, steals credentials and can alter trusted crypto wallet applications. Users are advised never to run commands from unsolicited sources to prevent data loss.
